Book Report: Inventors, Scientists and Explorers

This book report will be a BOOK research report.  The majority of the research will be done in the library using books and a notepad.  It's old school.  We use computers all year and this is a time to get reacquainted with books and paper.  There are two parts of the assignment for this project, a 5 paragraph blog entry on that person.  The other half of the assignment is for you to make an invention.  No it doesn't actually have to work by the end, but that would be AWESOME.

• You will pick a scientist / explorer / inventor from a list provided
• Think of a problem in your room/home/school/community/world and make an invention to solve it.
• You will also write a 5 paragraph blog about your person.  Some potential topics to include could be:
  
  1. Early life
  2. Inventions
  3. Explorations
  4. Discoveries
  5. How their work helps us today
  6. Personal life
  7. Education
  8. a funny story about them
  9. a particular discovery/invention/expedition
  10. Their personal life/interests
  11. Why their work was important
  12. How others felt about their work
  13. How their work Affects your life
  14. Why you think they are awesome/important
  15. ...and many more
